How-To Play Unsupported Video Files In Quick Time – Mac

I’ve had so many questions and people saying that they have downloaded a torrent (video file) and it won’t play in quick time, they don’t know what to do, so here is a video/written tutorial on how to do that.

What you will need:

  • Quick Time or Quick Time Pro
  • Internet Connection
  • Perian (perian.org)

First of all donwload Perian. When it opens double click the “Perian.prefPane”. The system preferences will load up. Say whether you want it to be installed on the whole computer or just your user account. You done!

Double click the video you want, Quick time will open and BAM! Your video will play.

OMG, thank you SO much! lol. I was worried I’d wasted all this time downloading something that I wouldn’t ever get to watch! Haha, thanks! That was exactly what I needed. ^.^
